A berberine-functionalized green silver nanoplatform for combined chemo-photodynamic therapy against breast cancer cells

Breast cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality among women, while recurrence, multidrug resistance, and systemic toxicity continue to limit therapeutic outcomes. Berberine (BBR), a natural isoquinoline alkaloid with chemo-photodynamic potential, exhibits promising anticancer activity; however, poor s...

Green synthesized silver nanoparticles from Artocarpus hirsutus flower extract induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis in HT29 colon cancer cells

The findings indicate that the green synthesized AgNPs exhibit significant cytotoxic and apoptosis-inducing effects in HT-29 colorectal cancer cells, and further studies involving normal cell lines and in vivo models are required to validate their therapeutic potential.

Acquired Chemoresistance in Colorectal Cancer: Therapy-Induced Signalling Adaptation, Cellular Plasticity and Mechanism-Guided Therapeutic Strategies

The effectiveness of chemotherapy in colorectal cancer (CRC) is significantly reduced by acquired chemoresistance to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), oxaliplatin and irinotecan. This structured narrative review synthesises mechanistic, preclinical, translational and clinical evidence underlying resistance to these agents. Distin...

Natural Photosensitizers in Cancer Therapy: A Chemo‐Biodiversity Perspective on Light‐Activated Natural Compounds

It is demonstrated that chemo‐biodiversity provides a rational foundation for the discovery of next‐generation natural photosensitizers, and Harnessing nature's evolutionary molecular diversity offers new opportunities to develop safer, more effective, and clinically translatable photodynamic therapies.
