Transcriptional and epigenomic analysis of insulin sensitivity in human adipocytes.

This work isolated adipocytes from subjects with and without insulin resistance and subjected them to transcriptional and epigenomic profiling, allowing it to identify genes, cis-regulatory elements, and pathways that associate with insulin resistance in this critical cell type.

Metabolic disease-relevant stimuli unmask context-dependent genetic regulation of cardiometabolic loci in human adipocytes

This study establishes large-scale adipocyte cell villages as a powerful and generalizable framework to map the context-dependent regulatory architecture of cardiometabolic disease and provides a resource linking human genetic variation to adipocyte cellular programs.
