Searching the Space of Feed-Forward Neural-Network Weight-Update Rules with Fixed Depth Symbolic Regression

The results suggest that symbolic regression can serve as a lightweight mechanism for discovering compact optimizer variants, while also highlighting the need for larger-scale validation.
