Differential roles of frontoparietal regions in working memory and decision-making

Working memory (WM) and decision-making (DM) are closely linked cognitive processes that rely on frontoparietal regions, yet their distinct and shared neural dynamics remain unclear. Using intracranial EEG recordings from 24 human subjects performing a delayed match-to-sample task, we examined high-frequency broadband...

The development of slow and fast theta oscillations in the human brain

Theta oscillations are pivotal for attention and memory, with developmental shifts in theta activity and connectivity tracking memory ability across the lifespan. Building on initial evidence that the theta band separates into slow and fast sub-bands across development within the medial temporal lobe (MTL) and the pref...

PHASE: A Physiology-Guided Hierarchical Foundation Model for Intracranial EEG

Beyond task performance, PHASE learns to encapsulate the physiological characteristics clinicians recognize, from seizure onset and its propagation to anatomical region identity, even though its pretraining contains no ictal recordings or anatomical labels.

Whole-brain millisecond-scale effective connectivity of auditory and visual naming

Strong accelerating flows, followed rapidly by decelerating flows, predicted stimulation-induced symptoms and faster behavioral responses, indicating that information transfer through white matter supports sequential transitions from perception to lexical retrieval and articulation.

The association between the degree of intraoperative bisynchronization blockade and drop attack freedom after corpus callosotomy in pediatric patients: a comparative cohort study.

Achieving > 50% intraoperative bisynchronization blockade during corpus callosotomy during CC was strongly associated with improved long-term atonic seizure freedom, and support the role of intraoperative EEG as a prognostic marker of effective seizure control.
