O corpo emula a Terra
The aim of this paper is to stimulate discussion within the field of gender studies, particularly regarding the role assigned to the biological body by feminist theory. The main thesis defended throughout the article is that the ecological transformations brought about by the Anthropocene invite philosophy to reconsider the metaphysical dualism characteristic of modernity, a dualism that posits a radical separation between the dimensions of nature and culture. To this end, the realist and materialist arguments of Bruno Latour and Karen Barad are invoked; these authors advocate ontologies that reject essentialist positions regarding bodies and their concreteness, while also recognizing that discursive and semiotic aspects are inseparable from matter. The mobilization of these theories allows for an expansion of the concept of gender performativity, understanding the body as a fragile stabilization of a continuous process in which biological, technical, political, and discursive actors participate, thereby breaking with a dualistic conception of the relationship between gender, materiality, and subjectivity.
