Chronic kidney disease promotes anxiety susceptibility through an angiotensin II–central amygdala axis
These findings support a kidney-to-brain model in which CKD primes CeA stress circuits, while local Ang II–AT1R signaling contributes to the behavioral expression of stress-induced anxiety-like behavior, with a potential brain-to-kidney feedback component.
