Atherogenic and inflammatory biomarkers in NSTEMI: a comparative analysis of predictive value for obstructive coronary disease.

BACKGROUND The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) and inflammatory indices may reflect the burden of atherosclerosis. This study evaluated their predictive value for obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). METHODS This retrospective study included 624...

Head-to-Head Comparison of Quantitative Flow Ratio, Intravascular Ultrasound, and Coronary Angiography in Left Main Coronary Artery Disease.

BACKGROUND Intermediate left main coronary artery (LMCA) disease poses a significant diagnostic challenge. Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) is the guideline-recommended reference standard for anatomical assessment, whereas quantitative flow ratio (QFR) provides a wire-free physiological estimate. Conventional coronary a...

Is Oral Anticoagulation an Independent Predictor of Mortality in STEMI and High‐Risk NSTEMI Patients After Primary PCI? A Propensity Score‐Matched Retrospective Analysis

Background Managing STEMI and high‐risk NSTEMI‐equivalent patients on chronic oral anticoagulation (OAC) undergoing primary PCI poses competing ischaemic and bleeding risks. Methods This single‐centre retrospective study enrolled 604 consecutive STEMI/high‐risk NSTEMI patients undergoing primary PCI (2012–2023). OAC us...

Diagnostic performance of quantitative flow ratio against intravascular ultrasound in left main coronary artery disease: a prospective single-centre study.

QFR demonstrated moderate concordance with IVUS but limited sensitivity, particularly in distal bifurcation lesions, and underestimated vessel dimensions, which limits its utility for LMCA procedural planning and stent optimization.
