This contribution represents the first molecular evidence that the Apennine population of N. widderi is genetically distinct, at least at the plastid level, from its Alpine counterpart.
The present findings identify specific genetic and hormonal targets that could be manipulated through precision breeding or genome editing to develop wheat varieties with enhanced root systems resilient to environmental changes.
Results indicate that T. borchii extracts can attenuate selected cellular alterations associated with muscle aging, and future identification of the most active components may support their development as nutraceutical supplements.
