However, each technology individually cannot capture the entire biological complexity of most human diseases. Integration of multiple technologies has emerged as an approach to provide a more comprehensive view of biology and diseases. Biological systems are formed by an interplay of interactions between a variety of biomolecules, such as DNA, RNA, proteins, and metabolites that act at numerous layers. Therapeutic discovery aims at identifying effective agents to treat diseases by targeting specific biomolecules or pathways involved in pathogenesis. This review reveal how integration of omics technologies and systems biology used in peptide-based therapeutic discovery.
