Sustainable supply chain management and enhanced business performance of hospitality firms
The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of sustainable supply chain management on the sustainability of business performance in hospitality firms. A framework consisting of three hypotheses was developed to examine interrelated literature. The data for this analysis were obtained from 415 management staff of registered hospitality firms in Nigeria using a structured questionnaire. The proposed hypotheses were tested using descriptive and inferential statistics. After analyzing the hypotheses, the findings from the study shows that supply chain sustainability management components (social, environmental and economic sustainability) have a significant positive impact on business performance of hospitality firms. It was suggested that sustainability managers and supply chain managers should assist hospitality firms to prioritize the adoption of supply chain sustainability management components, social, Environmental and monetary sustainability in their operations, as theorized in the current study. This is to help improve on hospitality firms’ business performance in terms of customers’ services, profitability and customer satisfaction. Future study should focus on integration of (AI) Artificial Intellegence in sustainable supply chain management in hospitality industry in developing countries.
