Chemical profiling, biological evaluation, and QSAR-informed metabolite prioritization of Hypericum ekerii: a first report on antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, and cytotoxic activities

Hypericum ekerii Yüce and Aytaç, first described in 2017, remains poorly characterized in terms of its phytochemical composition and biological properties. This study investigated aerial-part extracts of H. ekerii prepared with ethyl acetate, acetone, 70% acetone–water, and water. The hydroacetone extract showed the hi...

Neurological Assessment Tools and Inflammatory Biomarkers for Predicting Cerebral Palsy in Neonatal HIE.

BACKGROUND To evaluate temporal changes in serum interleukin-40 (IL-40), hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α), and procalcitonin (PCT) levels between early and post-rewarming measurements in neonates with moderate-to-severe hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) undergoing therapeutic hypothermia (TH), and to deter...

Targeted Metabolomic Profiling of Free Amino Acids in Human Colon Tumor-116 and Normal Colon Cells

Introduction: Metabolic reprogramming is a defining feature of colorectal cancer, and amino acid metabolism constitutes a major functional axis supporting proliferation, stress tolerance, and treatment resistance. We aimed to compare the intra-cellular free amino acid profile of human colon tumor-116 (HCT-116) colon ca...

Melatonin Protects BEAS‐2B Cells Against Hypoxia/Reoxygenation‐Induced Injury By Reducing MLKL Levels, Suppressing Oxidative Stress and Preserving Mitochondrial Function

It is suggested that melatonin protects BEAS‐2B cells against H/R‐induced injury, and that this protective effect may be associated with reduced oxidative stress, preservation of mitochondrial function, and suppression of necroptosis‐related signaling.
