Molecular mechanisms of root expansion in medicinal plants
Current knowledge on the hormonal, transcriptional, and environmental regulation of storage-root enlargement in medicinal plants is synthesized and future research directions to improve root yield, medicinal quality, and bioactive compound accumulation are highlighted.
