Towards Looped Models Done Right, Part I: Topology, Input Injection, Recurrent-State Design

Looped language models reuse physical Transformer blocks across logical depth, but established architectures entangle recurrence placement, input injection, and recurrent state organization. We isolate these axes in models trained from scratch at matched parameter scale, logical depth, and token budgets, and then test...

Towards Looped Models Done Right, Part II: Rethinking at Fixed Points

Every recurrence of a looped language model adds cost in training, decoding, prefill, and reinforcement learning (RL). The closer recurrent states get to fixed points, the less the path to them matters. This enables truncated backpropagation in training; terminal key-value (KV) sharing for decoding with almost no loss...

Broken Symmetry in BF16 Attention: Why FlashAttention Gradients Blow Up Late in Training

GProj (gauge projection), which restores the zero sum after the cast with two rank-one corrections per row, and cuts the remaining median query/key gradient errors from 219%/13% to 0.34%/0.37%, on par with FP32 attention, for 4.7% more time per training step.

Diamond Agent: Agentic Control of Federated HPC Resources as a Service

This work designs Diamond Agent, an agentic system that enables intelligent execution of HPC workflows across heterogeneous clusters with typed skills as the interface, and reduces the median additional completion time relative to the fastest observed placement from 42 seconds to 4 seconds, a 10.5x reduction.

Cremes: Cost-Efficient and Reliable Microservice Execution on Spot Instances

Cremes is proposed, an adaptive and cost-efficient scaling framework that ensures microservice recovery within the spot instance grace period and maintains SLO violation rates under preemptible environments below 6.7%.
