The “Anahit” journal shed light on the Armenian question through a wide range of themes, analyzing its development over time. Although the issue of Armenian reforms may appear to be primarily political, for Arshak Chopanyan, the founder and editor of the periodical, it was deeply rooted in cultural and artistic concerns. The journal's pages provide a detailed analysis of the evolution of the Armenian issue during the period under consideration. It covers the policies adopted by the Turkish authorities and the major players in international diplomacy regarding the Armenian question, as well as the strategies envisioned by Armenian national forces and organizations. These strategies include their efforts, achievements, and the setbacks they faced. Chopanyan approached his analyses with care and professionalism, hoping that the Armenian national bodies would take his observations into account. “Anahit”, drawing on the editor's publications, documented how the Turkish authorities consistently pursued anti-Armenian policies, which, after the Armenian question gained international attention, were carried out with the tacit approval – or even encouragement – of the great powers that were acting in their own interests. The journal's primary focus was to highlight the Armenian question from a thematic perspective. The editor firmly believed that Armenians could find the path to resolving their issues within the cultural and artistic domain, which he saw as key to addressing the broader Armenian question.
