Roless of interleukin-6 and macrophage inflammatory protein 2 in pneumolysinn induced lung inflammation in mice

IL-6 and MIP-2 played a role in PLY-induced PMN recruitment considering that this response was partially diminished in IL-66 gene deficient mice (P = 0.1 vs. wild type mice), and in mice treated with anti-MIP-2 antiserumm (P<0.05).
