CRISPR/Cas9 in soybean research: a measured leap toward genetic refinement

Soybean [Glycine max (Linn.) Merr] is a globally important source of plant-based protein and edible oil, widely cultivated in India as a major oilseed crop. However, conventional breeding approaches for soybean are laborious, constrained by the genomic complexity of soybean, and face persistent challenges in genetic tr...

Leaffolder Herbivory and Jasmonate Signalling Are Associated With Changes in Lipid-Derived Volatile Profiles in Rice.

Plants respond to insect herbivory by activating defence signalling pathways that regulate metabolism and volatile emissions. In rice, jasmonate signalling plays a central role in the production of herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs), yet the contribution of lipid-derived semi-volatile compounds to parasitoid-med...

Comprehensive whole genome hybrid assembly unravels genes and secretome of Albugo candida (Indian isolate), causing white rust disease in Brassica juncea

The present work provides genomic resources and framework for the dissection of this pathogen, which will refine the understanding of the Albugo–Brassica interaction.

Exploring the potential of bacterial endophytes from Medicinal plant Gymnema sylvestre with plant beneficial traits and antimicrobial efficacy against phytopathogens.

Results indicate that G. sylvestre harbors bacterial endophytes with promising plant growth-promoting and antifungal properties, and that selected Bacillus isolates can in future serve as candidate bioinoculants for sustainable crop improvement and disease suppression.

Toxicity of diet-incorporated silica nanoparticles on the invasive fall armyworm, spodoptera frugiperda (lepidoptera: noctuidae): life table and population projection analysis.

It is demonstrated that dietary exposure to SiNPs adversely affects the growth, survival, and reproductive performance of FAW, leading to reduced population growth potential and clear evidence that SiNPs can suppress FAW populations under controlled conditions.
