Structural basis of antigenic drift in FMDV O/Cathay topotype variants revealed by porcine-derived single B-cell neutralizing antibodies

The porcinophilic O/Cathay topotype variants of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) continuously accumulated mutations over time and produced antigenic drift, leading to diminished serum neutralization and compromised vaccine efficacy. However, the structural basis underlying this divergence remains poorly defined. Her...

Adaptive Evolution of Serotype O Foot‐and‐Mouth Disease Virus Under Vaccine Pressure: Combined VP1 T142/Q153 Mutations Drive Antigenic Alteration and Immune Evasion

Combined mutations at VP1 142 and 153 reshape viral antigenicity and act as core drivers of FMDV immune evasion, offering an experimental basis for clarifying FMDV evolution and developing broad‐spectrum vaccines.

Genome-wide CRISPR screen identifies RNF24 as a critical host factor for foot-and-mouth disease virus entry

An unbiased genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 knockout screening using porcine cells reveals a ubiquitin-dependent RNF24-LPXN regulatory axis that supports FMDV entry, highlights the role of non-degradative ubiquitination in viral pathogenesis, and proposes this interface as a potential target for antiviral intervention.
