The role of inflammation on coronary microvascular dysfunction and potential therapeutic targets

Abstract Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) is a major underlying cause of myocardial ischaemia and is associated with adverse cardiovascular outcomes. It occurs both in the presence of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) and in patients with non-obstructive CAD. Emerging evidence highlights chronic inflamm...

Incidence, Predictors, and Clinical Impact of Early Readmission After Complex Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

It is concluded that early rehospitalization after complex PCI is associated with worse 1-year outcomes, and clinical and procedural predictors - including sex-specific differences - should inform risk mitigation strategies to optimize post-PCI care.

Antithrombotic therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with atrial fibrillation: an individual patient data network meta-analysis.

A patient-level meta-analysis of randomized trials evaluating antithrombotic strategies in patients with AF undergoing PCI found the risk of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, or stroke did not significantly differ according to whether patients received a DOAC or VKA, whereas a modest increase in risk with si...

Baseline Anemia and Short Dual Antiplatelet Therapy in High Bleeding Risk Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

In patients with baseline anemia, 1-month DAPT was associated with lower major bleeding without an apparent ischemic trade-off, and among HBR patients undergoing PCI, abbreviated DAPT was associated with comparable ischemic outcomes regardless of anemia status.
