Peptides adopt stable omega-loop structures in concentrated sulfuric acid

Using NMR spectroscopy, it is shown that three peptides adopt stable, well-defined folded structures in concentrated sulfuric acid, an extreme solvent environment that has been long assumed to be incompatible with biomolecules.
