Tachinid Parasitoids of the Adult Stage of Phytophagous Stink Bugs: A Vacant Niche in Piezodorus guildinii (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

The potential of P. guildinii as a host for Trichopoda pictipennis is of interest for the design of integrated pest management strategies against this pest, with young females, particularly for young females, showing significantly greater parasitism and egg deposition on their preferred host.

A new potential biological control agent—the interaction between the parasitoid fly Neobrachelia edessae (Diptera: Tachinidae) and the stink bug Edessa meditabunda (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae)

Results indicate that N. edessae has a strong potential as a biological control agent of E. meditabunda, a Neotropical parasitoid fly of the stink bug Edessa meditabunda, and the effects of parasitism on host longevity, fecundity, and fertility are assessed.
