The chloroplast-localised metalloprotease EGY1 and Mg-dechelatase SGR1 control chloroplast development and senescence by modulating photosynthetic functions.
It is suggested that chlorophyll homeostasis regulates the overall development and function of the chloroplast as well as plant senescence.
