A Fixed-Parameter Algorithm for Extending Upward Planar Drawings

A fixed-parameter algorithm for extending upward planar drawings is presented which overcomes this drawback by using the $\textit{vertex+edge deletion distance}$ as the parameter, thus achieving tractability even for instances with many missing edges.
