Spatial analysis reveals cellular microenvironments and mechanisms of inflammation and injury in acute interstitial nephritis

Acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) is present in 15-20% of all acute kidney injury cases but lacks proven effective therapies beyond corticosteroids. Using high-resolution imaging mass cytometry and single-cell spatial transcriptomics to analyze human kidney biopsies with AIN, acute tubular injury (ATI), and reference...

Density-Reweighted Entropic Optimal Transport: Decoupling Geometry from Sampling Density

This work proposes a density-reweighted EOT framework in which the influence of sampling density on the transport plan can be discounted to a desired degree, ranging from standard EOT to alignment driven purely by underlying geometry.

Sensitive detection of rare HIV-infected cells in the human brain by single-nucleus RNA sequencing

A scalable multi-reference framework for detecting HIV RNA–positive cells in human CNS single-nucleus RNA-seq data is presented and provides large-scale quantitative evidence that microglia represent the dominant and most persistent HIV-infected population in the human brain.
