Abstract
This study investigates a water‐free photocurable composite system based on an ionic methacrylic acid (MAA)–triethanolamine (TEOA) reactive medium that includes starch as a bio‐based filler. Without pretreating the starch, the system incorporated starch as a physically dispersed filler with limited interfacial bonding in an ionic–hydrogen‐bonded reactive medium via an in situ system. Density, phase separation, mechanical properties, thermal stability, viscoelastic behavior, and morphology were evaluated in relation to starch loading and coupling agents. The findings show that starch improves hardness and density, with tensile strength reaching up to 3.2 MPa. However, it also leads to phase separation, which limits the overall performance of the composite structures. A heterogeneous network structure with broad relaxation behavior is suggested by DMA results, while gel fraction results indicate a high degree of crosslinking. This study suggests how dispersion and network homogeneity influence overall material performance.
Starch/poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) composite films containing dual silicate fillers were fabricated by extrusion blowing for biodegradable modified‐atmosphere packaging (MAP). The combination of diatomite, kaolin and zeolite was associated with a filler‐mediated interfacial network that enhanced...
Starch films often exhibit poor filler-matrix compatibility when reinforced with natural plant powders, which limits their functional performance. In this study, honeysuckle flower powder was modified via stepwise oxalic acid treatment to enhance its interfacial adhesion with corn starch. The treatment progressively re...

This study investigates the influence of dispersion media (ethanol vs water) on the interphase structure and performance of phenolic resin (PF) nanocomposites reinforced with nanodiamonds (ND) and graphene oxide (GO). Although water improves initial dispersion of nanofillers through strong hydrogen bonding, residual...
Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) is a promising biodegradable polymer; however, its reliance on petroleum and incompatibility with raw lignin additives hinder sustainable PVA composite development. In this study, mechanically robust PVA/functionalized acid-soluble lignin (fLGAS) composite films were developed by means of aque...

The development of sustainable coatings that combine reprocessability with active functionalities remains a central challenge for the composites sector. In this work, a healable, electrically conductive coating was formulated using epoxidized castor oil (ECO) as a bio-based matrix, dibutyl phosphate (DBP) as a transest...

Hybrid silica‐filled polyimide (PI) composites were developed for low‐dielectric copper‐clad laminate (CCL) applications by systematically varying the hollow‐silica‐to‐nano‐silica ratio while maintaining a constant total silica content. The influence of hybrid filler composition on bulk rheological behavior, film‐for...
