Enhanced terpenoid synthesis in Alternaria alstroemeriae PPL7 via co-fermentation with Paeonia lactiflora roots: integrated metabolomic and transcriptomic analysis
This study elucidates the adaptive mechanisms by which endophytic fungi remodel their metabolic networks to efficiently synthesize plant-derived terpenoids and provides novel strain resources and a theoretical basis for the sustainable manufacturing of terpenoid natural products using synthetic biology strategies.
Key genes in the mevalonate (MVA) pathway were upregulated in roots, facilitating metabolic crosstalk with the methylerythritol-phosphate pathway and enhancing terpenoid skeleton synthesis.
The temporal accumulation pattern and the underlying regulatory mechanisms of oxypaeoniflorin biosynthesis are elucidated, which provides a theoretical basis for the high‐value utilization of tree peony fruit pods and further studies on monoterpenoid glycoside biosynthesis.

Endophytic fungi from Huperzia serrata (H. serrata) are promising sources for exploring novel acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitors. In this study, 111 endophytic fungal strains were isolated from wild H. serrata, of which 18 exhibited AChE inhibition rates exceeding 90%. Among them, an endophytic Sporothrix isolate (...

Background Eupatorium lindleyanum is a medicinal plant rich in bioactive sesquiterpenoids, yet the genetic and regulatory basis underlying their biosynthesis remains completely unexplored. In particular, the marked tissue-specific accumulation of these compounds—abundant in aerial organs but scarce in roots—lacks a mol...
