Kaempferol, a widely distributed natural flavonoid, is increasingly studied for its antidiabetic properties. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis mapping the global research landscape of this field is currently lacking. This study aims to map research trends, collaborations, and the thematic evolution of kaempferol in diabetes-related studies from 2000 to 2025, while identifying emerging hotspots such as nutrigenomics and metabolomics. A total of 700 scientific documents were retrieved from the Scopus database. Bibliometric indicators and science mapping techniques—utilizing VOSviewer and Biblioshiny (RStudio)—were employed to analyze keyword co-occurrence networks, thematic evolution, and research dynamics. The field demonstrated a 19.5% average annual growth rate, encompassing 265 journals and 4,089 authors, reflecting a highly collaborative global environment. Thematic evolution revealed a distinct shift from early foundational studies on antioxidant activity and enzyme inhibition toward current research emphasizing molecular docking, gene modulation, and metabolic profiling. Recently, nutrigenomics and metabolomics have emerged as prominent focus areas. This bibliometric analysis provides a quantitative overview of the research landscape surrounding kaempferol and diabetes. The findings highlight an ongoing transition toward integrative, omics-based strategies, offering a structured foundation to guide future mechanistic and translational investigations.

The study conducted a bibliometric analysis of 704 articles on traditional Chinese medicine for gastric cancer published between 2006 and 2025, using the Web of Science Core Collection WOSCC (literature database). Network analysis and visualization were performed using CiteSpace (bibliometric analysis software), VOSviewer (bibliometric mapping software), and Scimago Graphica (a free scientific data visualization application). From the perspectives of publication trends, collaborative networks, research themes, and the knowledge base, the study elucidates the current research landscape, core research forces, and the evolution of frontiers in this field. Over the past two decades, the number of publications continued to grow, reaching a historic peak of 102 in 2025. Articles published in the last decade account for over 75% of the total, indicating that this field is in an active research phase. China ranks first in publication volume (671 articles), total citations (13,447), and international collaboration centrality. Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine are the core research institutions. Major publication outlets include the Journal of Ethnopharmacology and Frontiers in Pharmacology. Keyword cluster analysis identified nine major research themes: Helicobacter pylori, acupuncture, Chinese herbal injections, network pharmacology, molecular docking, metabolomics, and others. Research hotspots evolved from basic mechanistic exploration to comprehensive treatment strategies, and further to systematic studies supported by emerging technologies. Molecular docking and epithelial-mesenchymal transition represent the current research frontiers.

Background: Protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) have attracted considerable attention as potential targets for anticancer drug development. However, no bibliometric analysis of research articles on PRMTs in the field of oncology has been reported to date. To establish a knowledge map of PRMTs and cancer, summarize the current status and collaborative patterns of related publications, and explore research hotspots and future development prospects. Methods: Using defined topic terms and their corresponding free-text terms, we searched the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database for relevant publications from January 1, 2006 to September 7, 2024. CiteSpace was used to perform bibliometric analyses of countries, institutions, authors, cited journals, keywords, and references. NoteExpress was used to import, manage, and add references. Results: A total of 250 articles related to PRMTs and cancer were retrieved from WOSCC. Visual analysis showed a steady increase in the number of publications from 2006 to 2024. The United States had the highest centrality, whereas China had the highest publication count. The Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most productive institution. Mark T. Bedford was the most prominent and productive author. Cancer Cell had the highest centrality in this field. Based on keyword citation frequency, the leading research topics in current PRMTs and cancer studies were breast cancer, gene expression, coactivator-associated arginine methyltransferase 1 (CARM1), androgen receptor, and coactivator. Conclusion: Overall, PRMTs and cancer research represents a promising research direction, and members of the PRMT family have potential utility as cancer biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Purpose: This study aimed to provide a bibliometric overview of research on lung cancer and secondary metabolites, with a focus on their potential relevance to supportive care and treatment-related outcomes.Methods: Publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection between 2020 and 2025 were identified using the frequency of the keywords “lung cancer AND secondary metabolite.” After applying exclusion criteria, 179 original research articles were analyzed. Bibliometric analyses, including collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrence, and citation patterns, were performed using VOSviewer.Results: The number of publications showed a gradual increase, peaking in 2024. India was the most productive country, while the USA demonstrated the highest level of international collaboration. Frequently identified keywords included cytotoxicity, anticancer activity, and secondary metabolites. The findings indicate a strong research focus on the biological and therapeutic effects of secondary metabolites, particularly their antioxidant and cytotoxic properties.Conclusions: The growing interest in secondary metabolites highlights their potential role in improving cancer management. Their biological properties may contribute to supportive care by reducing treatment-related toxicity and enhancing therapeutic outcomes. Further clinical and translational studies are needed to clarify their role in supportive oncology.
Objective Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) have received considerable attention as potential adjunctive agents in antitumor therapy. However, systematic bibliometric analyses of this research area remain limited. This study aims to systematically examine research trends, knowledge hotspots, and emerging themes related to omega-3 PUFAs in oncology from 2000 to 2025, with the goal of providing valuable insights for future investigations. Methods Records related to omega-3 PUFAs and oncology published between 2000 and 2025 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus. Bibliometric mapping was performed using R/bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. In addition, clinical trial records from PubMed were screened to summarize clinical progress in this field. Results A total of 2,917 publications from the Web of Science and 7,380 publications from Scopus were analyzed. From 2000 to 2025, the annual number of publications in this field increased gradually, then reached a plateau, followed by a slight decline. The United States was the leading contributor in terms of publication output (n = 819), followed by China (n = 391) and Italy (n = 171). The United States also demonstrated a broader international collaboration network. Nutrients published the largest number of articles (n = 98, IF = 5.0), whereas the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition received the highest number of citations (n = 5,299, IF = 6.9). Major research themes included “inflammation,” “breast cancer,” “risk,” “colorectal cancer,” and “expression.” Antitumor mechanisms represented the dominant research focus. Another major theme involved associations among dietary omega-3 PUFAs intake, biomarker status, and cancer risk or progression. Furthermore, the application of omega-3 PUFAs in clinical antitumor therapy has emerged as a prominent research trend. Clinical trials in this field have primarily focused on antitumor applications and have shown a tendency toward combined treatment strategies. Conclusion Research on omega-3 PUFAs in oncology is progressively shifting from mechanistic exploration toward clinically oriented and translational applications. Emerging trends emphasize the integration of molecular mechanisms, objective exposure biomarkers, and clinical intervention strategies within a precision-oriented nutritional oncology framework. Future studies should focus on standardized exposure assessment, dose–response modeling, patient stratification, and clinically meaningful endpoints to better define target populations, optimal formulations and dosages, and appropriate intervention windows.

Aims: Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) has moved from tight-junction biology into the center of biomarker-driven oncology, particularly in gastric and gastroesophageal junction malignancies. With the clinical development of zolbetuximab and newer CLDN18.2-directed therapeutic platforms, the field has expanded rapidly and now requires quantitative mapping rather than narrative description alone.Methods: A bibliometric and scientometric analysis was performed using the Web of Science Core Collection database. Publications related to CLDN18.2 published between 2004 and 2026 were identified using predefined CLDN18.2- and zolbetuximab-related search terms. After document-type and language filtering, 490 English-language articles and reviews were included. Bibliometrix/Biblioshiny and VOSviewer were used to evaluate publication growth, collaboration patterns, citation structure, thematic evolution, and conceptual trends within the literature. Results: The final corpus comprised 490 publications, 3,265 authors, 246 sources, and 15,756 cited references. Annual growth was 23.17%, with a pronounced acceleration after 2018 and a sharp expansion after 2022. Exponential regression outperformed linear modeling, supporting a non-linear growth pattern. China, Japan, the United States, Germany, and South Korea were leading contributors. Productive authors and institutions clustered around translational gastric cancer research and CLDN18.2-targeted therapy development. Keyword and thematic analyses showed a transition from epithelial biology and tight-junction terminology toward gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, zolbetuximab, biomarker testing, immunotherapy, and targeted therapeutic strategies.Conclusion: CLDN18.2 research has rapidly evolved into a clinically relevant precision-oncology field shaped by biomarker guided gastric cancer therapeutics, international collaboration, and emerging targeted treatment platforms. The continued exponential growth of the literature suggests that CLDN18.2 will likely remain an expanding focus of translational and clinical oncology research.
