Abstract
The rapid growth of the digital economy, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, has fundamentally transformed business patterns for Culinary MSME Traders in Indonesia. This study explores how traditional traders adapt to digitalization, the economic impacts of digital platforms, transformation challenges, and the collaboration between MSMEs and the gig economy ecosystem. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved in-depth interviews with two Culinary MSME Traders who transitioned to digital platforms and collaborated with gig economy services. The findings indicate that prior to digital adoption, trading was limited by direct interactions, narrow consumer reach, and unstable income. Following the shift to digital media (WhatsApp, Facebook, and e-commerce), traders experienced increased efficiency, broader market expansion, and improved income stability. Furthermore, collaboration with gig economy couriers, such as ShopeeFood and GoFood, significantly streamlined distribution processes. However, despite these benefits, traders face persistent obstacles, including limited digital literacy, internet costs, and a decline in traditional social market interactions. In conclusion, while digital transformation poses certain challenges, it has overall enhanced business sustainability and merchant welfare, fostering a more.

Against the backdrop of the circular economy and digital acceleration, luxury brands face the imperative to reconcile digital growth with secondary market dynamics. In today's world, where digital technologies are widely used, and the idea of the circular economy is becoming more mainstream, luxury brands are dealing with two big problems: they need to update their marketing strategies and at the same time, deal with the secondary market. Using the example of Burberry, this paper investigates in a qualitative way what measures luxury brands can take to jointly develop with the second-hand market by means of strategic modifications in the context of digital transformation. The analysis of the data reveals that brand collaborations and limited-edition marketing efforts are effective avenues in boosting brand awareness through digital media. These include the dilution of core brand heritage through overexposure, channel conflicts arising from unregulated resale price erosion, and a trust crisis fueled by authentication deficits. Consequently, this paper proposes an integrated management framework encompassing blockchain-enabled authentication, selective collaborative curation, and a closed-loop product lifecycle strategy. This study provides actionable insights for luxury managers seeking to harmonize digital innovation with sustainable brand value retention.

The economic transformation in the digital era has transformed various aspects of people's lives through the increasingly widespread use of information and communication technology. This change creates new opportunities for increasing productivity, efficiency, innovation, and expanding access to digital markets and financial services. However, this transformation also presents various challenges, such as the digital divide, low digital literacy, cybersecurity threats, and changing workforce competency requirements. This study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and impacts of the digital economic transformation on public welfare. The method used is library research with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of various scientific sources, such as journals, books, official reports, and relevant publications. The results show that the digital economic transformation contributes positively to improving public welfare through the creation of new jobs, increased income, easier access to economic services, and encouraging the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, these benefits have not been felt evenly due to gaps in access to technology and digital capabilities. Therefore, synergy is needed between the government, the business world, and the community to improve digital literacy, expand technological infrastructure, and develop inclusive policies so that the digital economic transformation can achieve sustainable public welfare

This study investigates the effect of digital platform usage on Return on Investment (ROI) among smallholder onion farmers at the Igomelo Irrigation Scheme in Tanzania. Using a cross-sectional survey of 399 farmers, the Two-Stage Least Squares (2SLS) model was applied to account for endogeneity between digital adoption and ROI. Results reveal that digital platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, E-Kilimo, and Fresh Kilimo significantly enhance ROI by improving market access, reducing transaction costs, and increasing marketing efficiency. Instagram and Facebook demonstrated the strongest positive effects, highlighting their role in connecting farmers to premium buyers and transparent pricing systems. Household size, land ownership, and access to credit and extension services were also positively associated with higher ROI, reflecting the importance of socioeconomic and institutional support. The findings underscore that digital platforms are vital for transforming smallholder agriculture by fostering informed decision-making, lowering marketing inefficiencies, and promoting inclusive growth. Policy efforts should focus on improving digital literacy, connectivity, and financial inclusion to sustain ROI growth.

ABSTRACT:
The gig economy has rapidly transformed global labour markets by creating flexible, platform-based employment opportunities across Megalopolis and Boondocks. Gig economy has developed as a substantial component of contemporary labour markets, offering flexible employment opportunities through digital platforms. However, the experiences of workers differ substantially between urban and rural settings. Urban gig workers benefit from advanced digital infrastructure, strong internet connectivity, high consumer demand, and access to multiple platforms, enabling income diversification through services such as ride-hailing, food delivery, courier logistics, and temporary digital work. Despite these advantages, they face challenges including intense competition, algorithmic control, unstable earnings, and rising living costs. In contrast, rural gig workers operate under infrastructural constraints such as poor broadband access, limited smartphone penetration, weak transport systems, and lower market demand. Their participation in gig work is often combined with traditional occupations like farming, handicrafts, and small trade, creating hybrid livelihood strategies. The study also reviews existing literature on digital labour, innovation, smart systems, and worker well-being to
contextualize the broader implications of platform-based employment. Furthermore, it identifies major challenges, needs, and future prospects for gig workers in both regions. The paper concludes that digital infrastructure and equitable policy intervention are crucial for reducing spatial inequality and ensuring inclusive, sustainable, and dignified opportunities within the gig economy for both urban and rural workers.
