The Phenomenon of Transgression in the Context of Aesthetic Experience
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of transgression in the context of aesthetic experience. Due to the mass distribution of raffishing and shocking works of art, the issue of finding the right methodologi-cal guidelines that serve to adequately analyze transgressive elements in modern artistic practice remains rel-evant. Transgression is considered, first of all, as the ontological basis of human existence, and its translation into the field of aesthetic experience allows us to approach the evaluation of many modern works of art, art objects, art practices, etc. from artistic and aesthetic standpoints. Aesthetic experience turns out to be a neces-sary reaction of consciousness when the transgressive experience is pushed to such limits that all knowledge is overthrown, and the mind refuses to communicate with the “Other” and puts up protective barriers. The space of aesthetic experience becomes the boundary space between language and silence, knowledge and ignorance, possible and impossible.
