The main contribution is giving an essentially matching lower bound on the space complexity of diameter estimation for a set of points in Euclidean space in the dynamic (turnstile) streaming model.
Abstract
We study the space complexity of diameter estimation for a set of points in Euclidean space in the dynamic (turnstile) streaming model. The seminal work of Indyk (SODA 2003) gives a $c$-approximation to the Euclidean diameter of $n$ vectors using $n^{O(1/c^2)}$ space. Our main contribution is giving an essentially matching lower bound. Any dynamic streaming algorithm which can $c$-approximate the diameter of $n$ Euclidean vectors must use $n^{\tilde{\Omega}(1/c^2)}$ space.
We show that an almost-everywhere upper bound $b\geq 1$ for the Hausdorff dimension of visible parts of all compact planar sets implies the upper bound $d-2+b$ for visible parts of all compact sets $K$ in $\mathbb{R}^d$, $d\geq3$. Inserting the sharp planar bound $b=3/2$ of Orponen and Rutar \cite{OrponenRutar2026} giv...
We study Greedy for online metric matching with $n$ servers and $n$ requests sampled independently and uniformly from $[0,1]^d$. Servers are available initially, and Greedy irrevocably matches each arriving request to its closest available server, incurring a cost of their distance. We prove that Greedy has competitive...
A noise-robust communication primitive is introduced, Exam Mostly Set Disjointness, and an $\Omega\left(\frac{m}{t}\log\frac{1}{\delta}\right)$ one-way lower bound is proved, which yields the correct $\log(1/\delta)$ dependence.

A single fixed smooth convex hard instance is constructed using a Moreau-smoothed biased max chain, an exact prefix-shielding mechanism, and batched delayed rotations to preserve consistency with the full adaptive transcript and establish the optimality of the square-root complexity branch for deterministic bounded-que...

For every $1<p\le\infty$, we prove dimension-free maximal inequalities over all radii for normalized averages over Euclidean balls in $\mathbb Z^d$. In particular, this settles the $\ell^2$ question attributed to Stein. The proof uses a two-saddle expansion at integer squared radii to compare ball multipliers with norm...
We simplify algorithms for Knapsack, output-sensitive Subset Sum, and near-convex min-plus convolution. For bounded Knapsack, we give a deterministic algorithm using $O(N+W^2\log^3(W+2))$ arithmetic and comparison operations, where $W$ is the maximum item weight and $N$ counts input records with binary-encoded multipli...
