TL;DR

The genome assembly, annotation, and phylogeny of four legacy isolates of Xoo from Indian rice fields are reported, which clustered closely phylogenetically to previously studied Indian and Nepal Xoo isolates.

Abstract

Virulence properties are predicted from genome sequence data, in particular the transcription activator-like effector (TALE) gene content, of the rice pathogen Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo). Here, we report the genome assembly, annotation, and phylogeny of four legacy isolates of Xoo from Indian rice fields, which clustered closely phylogenetically to previously studied Indian and Nepal Xoo isolates. The TALE genes of these isolates showed both resemblance and unique features when compared with documented Xoo isolates from India, potentially providing insights into possible evolutionary changes in TALE gene profiles. High Quality, Long-Read Genome Assemblies of Two Virulent Field Isolates of Pyricularia oryzae from Portugal

The fungal pathogen Pyricularia oryzae is notorious for causing blast disease in various important cereal crops, including wheat, rice, millet, and oat. Whole-genome-informed data on this pathogen are necessary to better understand the host adaptability of the fungus, including identifying key determinants of infection...

Resource Announcement of Five Rhizoctonia solani Genomes Isolated from Tobacco

Rhizoctonia solani is a filamentous fungal pathogen that causes damping-off, sore shin, and target spot in tobacco. Limited genomic resources for tobacco-associated isolates from the United States (U.S.) have hindered studies of evolutionary relationships, host adaptation, and pathogenicity. Here, we report whole-genom...

Genome‐wide prediction of cloned disease resistance homologues across the Oryza genus

Abstract The wild relatives of rice (Oryza sativa L.) represent reservoirs of genetic diversity and potential sources of novel pest and disease resistance. The recent availability of high‐quality Oryza genome assemblies has enabled greater exploration of this diversity across the genus. This study aimed to identify and...

Abstract Taxillus sutchuenensis var. duclouxii, a shrub-like hemiparasitic plant with medicinal value. This study sequenced, assembled, and annotated the chloroplast genome of T. sutchuenensis var. duclouxii using Illumina high-throughput sequencing. The genome exhibits a typical circular quadripartite structure, with...
