Compounds 1–4 showed antifungal and anti-inflammatory activities, and 1 exhibited the strongest inhibition against Candida albicans together with selective cytotoxicity toward A549 cells, expanding the chemical and biological diversity of pimarane diterpenoids from P. scoparia.
Abstract
A chemical investigation of the endophytic fungus Peroneutypa scoparia RJHH-3 led to the isolation of a new highly oxygenated pimarane diterpenoid, peroneutone A (1), together with three known analogues, scopararane C (2), libertellenone A (3), and 9α-hydroxyisopimara-8(14),15-dien-7-one (4). The structure of 1 was established by HRESIMS and extensive NMR analyses, while its stereochemistry was determined by NOESY, NMR calculations, DP4+ analysis, and ECD calculations. Compounds 1–4 showed antifungal and anti-inflammatory activities, and 1 exhibited the strongest inhibition against Candida albicans (MIC = 0.6 μM) together with selective cytotoxicity toward A549 cells (IC50 = 6.9 μM). These findings expand the chemical and biological diversity of pimarane diterpenoids from P. scoparia.
Ten undescribed terpestacin-type sesterterpenoids, arthritacins A–J, together with five known analogues, together with five known analogues (11–15), were obtained from the endophytic fungus Arthrinium sp.

Phytochemical investigation of the whole plant of Euphorbia antiquorum L. led to the isolation of sixteen diterpenoids, including five new compounds, euphiquorins A-E (1, 5-8), together with eleven known analogues (2-4, 9-16). The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analyses a...
