Abstract
The present investigation studied 77 restorer lines (R lines) of pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.], evaluated randomized block design (RBD) with two replications in summer season 2025 at Bajra Research Scheme, Govt. College of Agriculture, Dhule. (MS).All 77 genotypes were evaluated for nine different morphological and agronomical traits. The 30 genotypes were grouped into six clusters. The seventy-seven genotypes were grouped into six clusters. Cluster I contained the highest number of genotypes (62), followed by Cluster II with 6 genotypes, Cluster IV with 4 genotypes and Cluster V with 3 genotypes. The remaining clusters-III, VI, -each contained only a single genotype, making them solitary in terms of multivariate composition.Hybridization between genotypes from Cluster II and Cluster VI may result in greater heterosis due to maximum genetic divergence.
The seventy-seven restorer lines of pearl millet [Pennisetum Glaucum (L.) R. Br.] were evaluated for nine quantitative characters during summer season 2025 with a view to study the correlation and path analysis for grain yield and its yield contributing characters. The experiment was carried out in Randomized Block Des...

A strategy for any crop development effort is the effective and methodical use of diversity at the morphological and DNA levels. Three methods for molecular markers (SSR, ISSR and SRAP) and morphological descriptors were utilized to assess the genetic variance between 21 pearl millet genotypes. Genotype samples were co...

Pearl millet, a critically drought-tolerant cereal supporting millions in Northern Nigeria, possesses significant unexplored genetic diversity. This study addressed the research gap in north-western Nigeria by analysing the genetic diversity and evolutionary relationships of 69 pearl millet accessions using 8 polymorph...

Maize (Zea mays L.) is a leading cereal crop whose genetic improvement depends largely on the availability of diverse and divergent parents. The present investigation was undertaken to assess the mean performance and to quantify the genetic divergence among thirty maize inbred lines for sixteen quantitative characters....

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an important pulse crop, and the identification of genetically divergent parents is useful for crop improvement through hybridization. The present investigation evaluated genetic diversity among 50 chickpea genotypes grown during Rabi 2024–25 at Dr. BRC Agricultural Research Station, Ma...

Assessment of genetic diversity is fundamental for crop improvement programs, as it helps to identify desirable traits and broaden the genetic base. Thus, research was carried out in augmented rod row design to assess phenotypic diversity and variation among 16 proso millet accessions at Sundarbazar, Lamjung, during ra...
