TL;DR

3-Hyd is used as a potent neuroprotective agent that markedly reduces the cerebral infarct area and improves neurological deficits in a mouse model of transient middle cerebral artery occlusion and the anti-neuroinflammatory and cerebroprotective effects of 3-Hyd were largely abolished in microglia-specific Prdx1 conditional knockdown mice.

MCC950-Derived NLRP3 Inflammasome Inhibitor Modulates Glial Inflammatory Signatures and Neuroinflammation after Traumatic Brain Injury

It is demonstrated that compound 4b exerts NLRP3 inhibitory activity in CNS-resident innate immune cells and modulates neuroinflammation and functional recovery after TBI, supporting its further development as a mechanistically validated NLRP3 inhibitor with translational relevance.

Carabrone alleviates neuroinflammation by covalently targeting ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UBE2D3 in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an incurable and progressive inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (CNS) characterized by inflammatory demyelination, chronic axonal damage, and neurodegeneration. Carabrone (CA), a sesquiterpene lactone from the traditional Chinese herb Carpesium abrotanoides L., demonstrates di...

LILRB4 Attenuates Ischemic Brain Injury by Inhibiting Microglial Necroptosis via a RIPK3‐Dependent Mechanism

Microglia are central mediators of neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke. Our previous multi‐omics data revealed significant upregulation of leukocyte immunoglobulin‐like receptor subfamily B member 4 (LILRB4) in microglia after transient middle cerebral artery occlusion (tMCAO), but its functional role remains u...

NEMO (IKKγ) citrullination in microglia promotes neuroinflammation in the post-ischemic brain

Peptidylarginine deiminase (PAD) catalyzes the post-translational conversion of positively charged arginine residues into neutral citrulline. This modification, known as citrullination, is implicated in various pathological conditions, including those affecting the central nervous system. This study investigated the pr...

Microglial 5-LOX-activating protein antagonism alleviates leukotriene-driven neuroinflammation

In multiple sclerosis (MS), the chronic, unresolved nature of neuroinflammation within the central nervous system (CNS) remains a major obstacle for effective therapeutic intervention. This challenge arises primarily due to an incomplete understanding of the dysregulated inflammatory and pro-resolving pathways underlyi...
