Design and application of digital radiography detection process simulation software for weld quality of rocket tanks

Sep 2026 · Third International Conference on Frontiers of Applied Optics and Computer Engineering (AOCE 2026) · pp. 32

Abstract

The development of digital radiography (DR) provides new opportunities for testing weld quality of rocket tanks. However, the DR sysytem involves numerous parameters to adjust, which makes it time-consuming to select appropriate process parameters. In this paper, a simulation X-ray imaging system model is constructed to simulate the actual DR system. Different conditions are taken into account to refine the simulation model, based on which a simulation software is developed for the DR detection process of weld quality in rocket fuel tanks. Extensive experiments are conducted to compare the performance of the simulation software with that of the actual DR inspection system. The results show that the performance errors are less than 9.5%, verifying the effectiveness of the simulation software. The developed simulation software can be applied to the DR inspection of welds in actual launch vehicle fuel tanks, providing technical support for the optimization of process parameters, and enabling it efficient to determine proper process parameters.

The impact of agile practices on communication in software development

The study shows that agile practices improve both informal and formal communication, but indicates that, in larger development situations involving multiple external stakeholders, a mismatch of adequate communication mechanisms can sometimes even hinder the communication.
