TL;DR
Compared with controls, women with PCOS had higher body weight, body-mass index, waist circumference, waist circumference, triglyceride levels, insulin resistance-related parameters, triglyceride-glucose (TyG) Index, lipid accumulation product (LAP), and Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP), whereas high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and single point insulin sensitivity estimator (SPISE) values were lower.
Abstract
Aims: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is associated with significant metabolic and cardiometabolic abnormalities. This study aimed to evaluate prolactin levels and cardiometabolic surrogate indices across PCOS phenotypes and to examine the relationship between prolactin and cardiometabolic parameters in women with PCOS.Methods: A retrospective cohort of 206 women, including 126 with PCOS and 80 controls, was analyzed. Women with PCOS were classified into four phenotypes (A-D). Demographic, anthropometric, metabolic, hormonal, and cardiometabolic variables were assessed. Correlation analysis, logistic regression, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis were performed. Results: Compared with controls, women with PCOS had higher body weight, body-mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), triglyceride (TG) levels, insulin resistance-related parameters, triglyceride-glucose (TyG) Index, lipid accumulation product (LAP), and Atherogenic Index of Plasma (AIP), whereas high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and single point insulin sensitivity estimator (SPISE) values were lower (all p
Background and Objectives: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous endocrine and metabolic disorder characterized by distinct phenotypic presentations. This study aimed to compare androgenic and metabolic characteristics across Rotterdam-defined PCOS phenotypes, with particular emphasis on insulin resistanc...

Introduction Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is frequently conceptualized as a hyperandrogenic disorder, yet cardiometabolic risk may be driven primarily by obesity and insulin resistance. We characterized glucose–insulin dynamics in women with PCOS and examined whether metabolic dysfunction was more closely associate...

Introduction: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder associated with metabolic and hormonal abnormalities that predispose women to long-term health complications. Alterations in serum magnesium levels, lipid profile, thyroid function, and glycaemic status may contribute to increased risks of di...

Background:
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine and metabolic disorder associated with low-grade inflammation.
Aim:
To compare inflammatory markers between women with PCOS and age- and BMI-matched controls and assess their metabolic associations.
Materials and Methods:
This hospital-based case–control...

Objective To investigate circulating C1q/TNF-related protein-1 (CTRP-1) levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and evaluate its potential association with metabolic and reproductive features of the syndrome. Methods A prospective cross-sectional case–control study was conducted between October 2021 and M...

OBJECTIVES
Insulin resistance (IR) worsens metabolic and reproductive outcomes in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram incorporating serum amino acid profiles and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) for predicting IR in PCOS.
METHODS
A retrospective observational analysis was...
