TL;DR
A five-decade-long scientific journey through the evolving landscapes of plant cell biology, light signaling, and abiotic stress physiology is traced, highlighting recent frontiers in plant memory and stress priming mediated by methylglyoxal as a signaling molecule, the roles of serotonin and melatonin, and the computational discovery of plant prion-like proteins as structural memory switches.
It is proposed that the evolution of p-GPATs in land plants acted as a two birds-one stone innovation, diverting intracellular lipids to the extracellular space and providing a simple path to the evolution of two traits essential for the colonization of land.

Grafting is an integral component of modern horticultural practices, integrating distinct genetic systems to synergistically enhance crop resilience and productivity. In modern fruit production, dwarfing rootstocks have emerged as the biological pivot for intensification and mechanization, substantially optimizing la...
This review synthesizes the significant advancements made over the past decade in understanding JA's role in regulating plant development and mediating responses to environmental stresses, areas that lacked systematic review in previous years.

SUMMARY Due to their sessile nature, plants are constantly exposed to the environment and must cope with sometimes extreme changes in conditions during the day or growing season. Plants depend on photosynthesis as their primary means to generate energy and building blocks, and adverse environmental conditions can stres...

Soil salinization is one of the most pressing abiotic stresses currently confronting global agriculture, posing a severe threat to crop yields and global food security. As soil salinity is not uniform, plant roots actively adjust their direction of growth to evade high-salinity regions; a phenomenon called halotropism....
