Future Trends in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): Artificial Intelligence, Digital Responsibility, And Global Sustainability Challenges

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is continuously evolving in response to rapid technological advancement, digital transformation, and increasing global sustainability challenges. Emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), are reshaping how organizations design, implement, and evaluate CSR initiatives. At the same time, businesses face growing responsibilities related to digital ethics, data privacy, cybersecurity, climate change, social inequality, and sustainable development. This mini research examines future trends in CSR by exploring the integration of AI, digital responsibility, and responses to global sustainability challenges. The study employed a qualitative descriptive research design using secondary data from peer-reviewed journals, books, sustainability reports, and publications from international organizations. The findings indicate that AI-driven decision-making, responsible digital governance, and sustainability-focused innovation are transforming CSR into a more strategic and data-driven management approach. Organizations that embrace ethical AI, transparent governance, and sustainable technologies are better positioned to create long-term value while contributing to global sustainable development. The study concludes that the future of CSR will depend on balancing technological innovation with ethical responsibility, stakeholder trust, and environmental sustainability.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN BRICS+ COUNTRIES: INNOVATIONS AND BUSINESS PRACTICES

Amid accelerating digital transformation and growing challenges to sustainable development, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a key driver of structural change in the global economy. This issue is particularly significant for the BRICS countries, which, on the one hand, are centers of economic growth and technological experimentation, and on the other, face social, environmental, and institutional constraints. The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring sustainable development in BRICS countries through the lens of innovation in business and management practices. The paper examines the development of AI ecosystems in BRICS countries, the impact of the digital economy on multilateral cooperation, and the opportunities and risks of applying AI in the context of green innovation, corporate governance, and economic policy. The study's methodological framework is based on systems and comparative analysis, a synthesis, and a critical analysis of scientific publications by Russian and international authors on artificial intelligence, the digital economy, sustainable development, and green innovation. A qualitative analysis of theoretical and empirical research, as well as an interdisciplinary approach, is used. It has been established that artificial intelligence in BRICS countries is an important driver of green innovation, improved management effectiveness, and the transformation of business practices. At the same time, institutional, social, and ethical risks associated with the implementation of AI are identified, including security threats, uneven distribution of benefits, and unintended consequences of economic policy. The study concludes that it is necessary to formulate coordinated strategies for the development of artificial intelligence in BRICS countries, focusing on sustainable development principles, institutional coordination, and the responsible use of digital technologies in business and management.

Artificial Intelligence Governance and Industrial Development: Transnational Spillovers, Technology Transfer, and Sustainable Territorial Implications in Brazil

This study examines the relationship between artificial intelligence (AI) governance and industrial development, focusing on the transnational spillover effects of China’s regulatory framework on Brazil. Positioned at the intersection of technology governance, territorial development, and sustainability, the paper analyses how emerging AI regulatory models generate indirect impacts on partner economies through mechanisms of technology transfer, infrastructure complementarities, and regulatory alignment. Using a difference-in-differences (DiD) approach applied to panel data from 25 Brazilian industrial sectors (2019–2025), the findings indicate that sectors with higher exposure to AI experienced a significant increase in output following the formalization of China–Brazil AI cooperation. The results reveal that these effects are mediated by open-source technological ecosystems, increased investment in digital infrastructure, and reduced regulatory uncertainty, contributing to enhanced industrial performance and adaptive capacity. Beyond economic outcomes, the study highlights the territorial implications of AI governance, particularly in fostering more balanced regional development, strengthening innovation ecosystems, and supporting pathways toward sustainable and resilient industrial systems. The article contributes to the literature on AI governance and development by introducing the concept of transnational regulatory spillovers as a driver of sustainable territorial transformation, offering relevant insights for policymakers and stakeholders navigating the global dynamics of digital transition.
