Abstract

Let $M_1$, $\cdots$, $M_\ell$ be complete manifolds of the same dimension, where $2\le \ell\in\mathbb{N}$. Suppose that each $M_i$ satisfies two side Gaussian bounds. If some of these manifolds are parabolic and there exists a constant $1\le n_i\le 2$ such that for some $x_i\in M_i$ with $1 \le r \le R<\infty$, $$c_i\left(\frac{R}{r}\right)^{n_i}\le \frac{Vol_{M_i}(B(x_i,R))}{Vol_{M_i}(B(x_i,r))}\le C_i\left(\frac{R}{r}\right)^{n_i},$$ by assuming that all the manifolds satisfy the relative connectedness of the annuli ($RCA$) condition introduced by Grigor'yan and Saloff-Coste, we show that the Riesz transform $\nabla \mathcal L^{-1/2}$ is bounded on $L^q(M)$ for each $1

Volume gap for minimal submanifolds in spheres, II

Let $f:M^n\looparrowright\Sph^{n+q}(1)$, $n\ge2$ and $q\ge1$, be a closed, connected, non-totally-geodesic minimal immersion with second fundamental form $h$, and put $S=|h|^2$ and $S_*=\max_M S$. If $p\in f(M)$ has multiplicity $m$ and $f^{-1}(p)=\{x_1,\ldots,x_m\}$, then \[ \Vol(M)\ge \left[m+\varepsilon_n\sum_{j=1}^...

A product theorem for $r$-cross intersecting families of subspaces

Let $V$ be an $n$-dimensional vector space over a finite field of order $q$. Let $r\geq 3$, $(r-1)n\geq rk$ and let $\mathcal F_1,\ldots,\mathcal F_r\subset \genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{V}{k}$, where $\genfrac{[}{]}{0pt}{}{V}{k}$ denotes the set of $k$-dimensional subspaces of $V$. Suppose that $F_1\cap\cdots\cap F_r\neq\{0\}...

Sharp Convex Concentration for Symmetric Random Tensors with Subgaussian Coordinates

Let $X=(X_1,\ldots,X_n)$ have independent coordinates with mean zero, variance one, and $\|X_i\|_{\psi_2}\le K$, and let $H_d=(\mathbb R^n)^{\otimes_2 d}$. Let $L>0$ and let $f:H_d\to\mathbb R$ be convex and $L$-Lipschitz. We prove that, for $0\le t\le c_KLn^{d/2}$, \[ \textsf{P}\left\{ \left\lvert f(X^{\otimes d})-\te...

On Line-Hyperplane Structures for Hitchin Representations

Let $n \geq 4$ and $\rho: \pi_1S \rightarrow PSL(n,\mathbb{R})$ be a Hitchin representation. We study the topology of a cocompact domain of discontinuity $\Omega_{\rho}$ in the flag manifold $\mathcal{F}_{1,n-1}$ of line-hyperplane pairs in $\mathbb{R}^n$ defined by Guichard-Wienhard. In particular, we lift $\Omega$ to...

Universal Volume Growth Bounds from Positive Intermediate Curvature

Let $n,m$ be integers such that $n\geq2$ and $0\leq m\leq n-2$. Let $C_{m+1}$ denote the $(m+1)$-intermediate curvature introduced by Brendle--Hirsch--Johne. We prove that there are constants $\nu(n,m),C(n,m)>0$ such that the following holds. If $(M^n,g)$ is complete and connected and, for $\delta\geq 0$, \[ \mathrm{Ri...

Bilinear Bochner-Riesz Means on the Complex Sphere

In this paper, we establish the boundedness of the bilinear Bochner-Riesz means $\mathcal{B}^{\alpha}_R$ on the complex sphere $\mathbb{S}$. More precisely, we prove that $\mathcal{B}^{\alpha}_R$ is bounded from $L^{p_1}(\mathbb{S}) \times L^{p_2}(\mathbb{S}) \to L^p(\mathbb{S})$ where $1/p_1+1/p_2=1/p$ and $1\leq p_1,...
