DYNAMIC RISK ASSESSMENT IN OIL WELLS DRILLING
Abstract
The article discusses the application of dynamic occupational risk assessment when performing work at altitude in the oil and gas industry using the example of drilling, underground and major well repairs. The purpose of the study was to develop and test a dynamic risk assessment methodology to improve the safety of work in high-risk environments. During the study, data from the approbation of the methodology at oil and gas production facilities were used. Based on the occupational safety and health risk register of the pilot enterprise, which includes 83 identified risks, a checklist has been developed and adapted to conduct a dynamic risk assessment when working at height. A step-by-step algorithm for risk assessment using a risk matrix and a dynamic risk assessment sheet is proposed, which allows taking into account changes in the production environment in real time. The results of the testing showed the possibility of timely identification of dangerous factors and making operational decisions on risk management. In particular, when performing work at height, an excess of the permissible wind speed was recorded, which served as the basis for a temporary suspension of work until the elimination of the dangerous factor. The use of the developed tools has contributed to improving the quality of hazard identification and the effectiveness of risk control. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the proposed methodology to improve occupational safety and prevent occupational injuries when performing high-risk work in the oil and gas industry.
