5-Methoxyflavone alleviates high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- mice through modulation of ACADM.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic vascular pathology and a leading cause of global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, with dysregulated lipid metabolism acting as a primary driver of its progression. 5-Methoxyflavone (5-MF), a natural flavonoid, exhibits known lipid-modulating and antioxidant properties; however,...

Hematopoietic HCAR2 attenuates atherosclerosis by enhancing efferocytosis via AMPK/ABCA1 signaling.

BACKGROUND Atherosclerotic plaque progression involves lipid accumulation, inflammation, and impaired efferocytosis, the macrophage mediated clearance of apoptotic cells. HCAR2, a metabolite sensing receptor highly expressed on macrophages, modulates immune metabolic responses, but its role in efferocytosis and atheros...

USP40 alleviates atherosclerosis by stabilizing SIRT1 to suppress endothelial apoptosis and NLRP3 inflammasome activation.

Atherosclerosis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory vascular disease driven by endothelial dysfunction, and dysregulated ubiquitination has emerged as an important pathogenic mechanism. Although deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) are key regulators of protein homeostasis, the role of USP40 in AS remains unknown. Here, we defin...

MD‐1 Deficiency Mitigates Atherosclerosis by Inhibiting NLRP3 Inflammasome Activation via cGAS‐STING Dependent Pathway in Macrophages

Findings reveal that MD‐1 promotes pro‐inflammatory (M1‐like) macrophage polarisation in atherosclerosis by inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation via a cGAS‐STING dependent pathway and suggest that MD‐1 neutralisation could be a potential therapeutic strategy for atherosclerosis management.
