Abstract
A three-dimensional dynamic numerical model of a slope with weak interlayers in southwestern China was established in FLAC3D to study its seismic response and stability. Free-field boundaries and local damping were adopted, and the acceleration, displacement, and stress responses under different input frequencies, peak accelerations, and loading directions were examined. The results show that the slope has a clear elevation amplification effect, with the strongest response at the slope crest. Weak interlayers significantly influence seismic wave propagation, energy dissipation, stress redistribution, and local deformation development. Low-frequency seismic motions are more likely to produce dynamic amplification and reduce slope stability. These results help clarify the coupled effects of elevation, weak structural planes, and seismic frequency, and can provide a reference for the seismic design and stability evaluation of similar slopes.
Building structures adjacent to slopes are common in urban and rural areas. These structures face more severe challenges under earthquake excitations, necessitating a study on the dynamic responses of building systems adjacent to slopes. Accounting for soil-structure interaction, viscoelastic artificial boundaries, and...

This study develops a numerical simulation technique to investigate seismic wave propagation and amplification in complex terrains. The results show that optimizing boundary conditions and appropriately increasing the width-to-height ratio of the model can significantly improve simulation accuracy, providing a reliable...
Rock slopes containing weak interlayers are susceptible to seismic-induced sliding failure along the interlayer planes. This study aims to investigate the dynamic response of prestressed composite structures reinforced rock slopes containing weak interlayers. Based on a typical slope prototype in Ludian, Yunnan, a cent...
To investigate the influence of oblique SV-wave incidence on the dynamic response and seismic resilience of subway stations, the viscoelastic artificial boundary combined with the equivalent nodal force method was used to implement the oblique SV-wave input, and a 3D soil-structure interaction finite element model was...
