TL;DR

In this national propensity-matched analysis, all evaluated bariatric procedures were associated with significant improvements in weight loss and comorbidity remission, however, RYGB demonstrated higher remission rates than SG, whereas BPD-DS achieved the most favorable 6-month weight-loss and cardiometabolic outcomes among all procedures.

Revisional Options after Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass: A MBSAQIP Analysis of Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch Versus Limb Lengthening.

BACKGROUND Recurrent weight gain after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) has become increasingly common. This study aimed to compare short-term surgical outcomes between patients undergoing Limb Lengthening (LL) versus Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch (BPD/D) after RYGB. METHODS A retrospective analysis o...

Revisional one-anastomosis gastric bypass versus SADI-S following sleeve gastrectomy for recurrent obesity: a comparative study of metabolic, nutritional, and quality-of-life outcomes

Revisional bariatric surgery is increasingly performed due to inadequate weight loss, weight regain, or complications following primary bariatric procedures. One anastomotic gastric bypass (OAGB) and single-anastomosis duodeno-ileal bypass with sleeve gastrectomy (SADI-S) are commonly used revisional options, yet...

Comparison of 5-year glycemic outcomes after sleeve gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in patients with pre-operative dysglycemia

OBJECTIVE The long-term effects of bariatric surgery on glucose metabolism are well established; however, comparative data regarding glycemic outcomes after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RNYGB) in patients with pre-operative dysglycemia remain limited. This study aimed to compare 5...

Comparison of Surgical Outcomes Between Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (LSG) Versus Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy With Proximal Jejunal Bypass (LSG With PJB) in Patients With Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 50 kg/m2).

BACKGROUND The optimal bariatric procedure for patients with severe obesity (BMI ≥ 50 kg/m2) remains debated. This study compares standard laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) with an emerging metabolic intervention, LSG with proximal jejunal bypass (LSG + PJB). METHODS A retroprospective study (January 2022-Decembe...
