Abstract
There are many potential applications for mechanical chemistry in sustainable chemistry, an emerging green systematic field. Recent years have seen successful chemical synthesis using a mixer or planetary ball mills for mechanical milling in solvent-free environments. This article overviews several solvent-free mechanochemical organic reactions, focusing mainly on the Diels-Alder reaction. Although there is a growing interest in this field, its fundamental mechanistic foundations still need to be fully understood. This paper highlights some of the hallmarks of mechanically activated approaches to Diels-Alder reactions. Moreover, to discuss the advantages and limitations of this approach and the potential applications of mechanochemistry beyond the Diels-Alder reaction, It was consequently concluded that mechanochemical organic reactions without solvents are more advantageous over liquid-phase equivalents, including superior product yields, superior selectivity, shorter reaction times, more straightforward work-up procedures, and the elimination of hazardous organic solvents.
The growing environmental and economic concerns surrounding traditional chemical synthesis have accelerated the demand for sustainable, greener methodologies. Green chemistry offers a framework for designing processes that minimize hazardous waste, reduce energy consumption, and use safer reagents. Among various emergi...

The use of solventless synthetic methods is becoming important in green chemistry, as they allow the production of synthetic organic molecules in a way that is less environmentally harmful and requires less waste, energy, and impact than traditional solvent-mediated methods. In this review, the recent advances in the u...

Although aqueous-phase reactions are an environmentally friendly approach to organic synthesis, their effectiveness is limited by the inefficiency of coupling immiscible mass transfer with surface reactions. Here, we present a cross-scale, integratable catalytic stirrer that reduces this limitation by employing a syn...

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) represent a powerful class of ordered porous materials, yet conventional solvothermal synthetic routes often hinder their practical implementation. Solvent-free strategies have emerged as attractive alternatives, not only for reducing the use of conventional solvents but also for crea...
