HybridRAG-BN: A Retrieval-Augmented Framework with Fine-Tuned Verification for Bangla KBQA

Knowledge-base question answering (KBQA) systems rely on effective retrieval and reasoning mechanisms to generate accurate answers from external knowledge sources. However, developing reliable KBQA systems for low-resource languages such as Bangla remains challenging due to limited retrieval-focused research, scarce language resources, and difficulties in grounding generated responses in external knowledge. In this work, we propose HybridRAG-BN, a retrieval-augmented framework for Bangla KBQA that integrates hybrid retrieval using BM25 and BGE-M3, answer generation using the GGUF version of Gemma-4-31B-Instruct, and a LoRA-fine-tuned Gemma-4-31B-Instruct model for answer verification and refinement. To further improve robustness, the framework incorporates a post-processing stage that addresses unresolved cases through fallback answer replacement and DuckDuckGo-assisted retrieval. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, achieving token-level F1 scores of 0.71654 and 0.72912 on the public and private leaderboards, respectively, securing first place in the competition.

RA-QGQA: A Question-Driven Pipeline for Corpus-Grounded Knowledge Graph Verification

RA-QGQA is presented, which recasts triple verification as a question-driven, corpus-grounded task, and demonstrates RA-QGQA as an interactive web system in which users import a KG and its source corpus, verify all triples in a single pass, and inspect the passages that justify its verdict.

NOWJ@COLIEE 2026: Adaptive Pipelines for Legal Retrieval and Reasoning

This paper presents the methodologies and results of the NOWJ team's participation across all five tasks of the COLIEE 2026 competition. For Task 1 (Legal Case Retrieval), we propose a four-stage pipeline comprising candidate filtering, dense retrieval with complementary embedding models, cross-encoder reranking via fine-tuned generative rerankers and MLP-based pairwise classification, and adaptive per-query cutoff prediction. For Task 2 (Legal Case Entailment), we combine BM25 filtering, T5-based reranking, and LLM-based entailment verification with consensus ensemble. For Task 3 (Statute Law Retrieval and Entailment), we adopt a retrieval-augmented generation framework with dense retrieval, attention-based reranking, and few-shot-prompted LLM reasoning. For Task 4 (Legal Textual Entailment), we introduce a dynamic routing pipeline that classifies query difficulty and dispatches cases to either a balanced few-shot solver or a structured zero-shot chain-of-thought solver. For the Pilot Task (Legal Judgment Prediction), we combine hierarchical transformers with CRF layers, argument relation mining, and probabilistic argumentation graph reasoning.

Dynamic Multi-Path Retrieval for Knowledge-based Visual Question Answering

Dynamic Multi-Path Retrieval for KB-VQA (DMRAG) is proposed, which re-trieves candidates through multiple retrieval paths that capture complementary visual and semantic cues and performs Question-Adaptive Gated Fusion to balance contributions from different modalities according to the query’s information need.

An Intelligent PDF Question-Answering System; A Retrieval-Augmented Generation Approach

Due to the surge in digital document creation, intelligent systems that can effectively retrieve accurate information from unstructured PDF content have become a necessity. Current keyword-based search techniques lack semantic meaning, while large language models (LLMs), when utilized individually, produce hallucinated results when they are not contextually aware of document content. In this paper, we introduce a novel real-time question answering system for PDF content using a lightweight approach to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Our system combines a HuggingFace sentence transformer model for semantic embeddings with a FAISS vector similarity search for efficient retrieval, leveraging a Groq-hosted LLaMA 3.3 70B model for context-grounded answer generation. The system is built using LangChain for orchestration and Streamlit for web-based deployment, and requires no GPU, no fine-tuning, and no pre-indexed corpus. Evaluation across five complementary metrics—Exact Match, Token-level F1, BLEU, ROUGE, and semantic similarity—demonstrates strong alignment between generated and reference answers, with a peak semantic similarity of 0.8709 and a mean Token F1 of 0.4701, confirming the viability of this approach for real-world document intelligence.
