Abstract
The emergence of quantum computing threatens the security of widely deployed public-key cryptographic systems such as RSA and elliptic curve cryptography. In response, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standardized a new generation of post-quantum algorithms including ML-KEM and ML-DSA. This paper presents the Quantum Privacy Analyzer (QPA), a prototype designed to experimentally evaluate the performance impact of post-quantum cryptography in modern computing and networking environments. The system compares classical cryptographic algorithms (RSA-4096 and ECDSA-P256) with NIST standardized PQC algorithms. Experimental results reveal a significant shift in performance characteristics: while lattice-based key encapsulation mechanisms can outperform RSA in CPU efficiency, the large size of postquantum artifacts significantly increases network overhead and frequently exceeds the Ethernet MTU limit, forcing TCP segmentation.
The growing threat of quantum computing to classical cryptographic systems such as RSA and ECC has led to an urgent need for post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) research and implementation. The base paper, “Quantum Computing in Cryptography”, identified a major research gap - the lack of practical implementation of post-q...

Quantum computing is rapidly emerging as a trans-formative technology with the potential to solve certain computational problems much faster than classical computers. While this advancement offers significant opportunities in science and technology, it also raises serious concerns for modern crypto-graphic systems. Wid...

Quantum key distribution and post-quantum cryptography represent the backbone for tackling security challenges in the quantum era. Although each of them has its own shortcomings, their practical implementation raises the question of their possible combination and synergy. In this context, the paper considers mixing est...

The emergence of large-scale quantum computing poses a concrete threat to the public-key cryptographic algorithms widely used in today’s information technology systems. Over the past three decades, post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and quantum key distribution (QKD) have been proposed to protect against this threat. This...

This analysis demonstrates that while hybrid PQC-QKD models reduce long-term key compromise probabilities to near 0%, they introduce a 15% to 40% increase in bandwidth overhead during initial cryptographic handshakes during initial cryptographic handshakes.
