Abstract

Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) encode the three-dimensional structure of hadrons, yet their modification in nuclear matter remains largely unconstrained. We report the first derivation of resummed QCD power corrections to deeply virtual Compton scattering on nuclei. Extending techniques from inclusive deep inelastic scattering, we identify the nuclear-enhanced higher-twist contributions generated by coherent final-state scattering of the struck quark in the medium and resum them to all orders. The corrections are enhanced by an effective nuclear size $A_{\rm eff}^{1/3}$ and result in an exclusive analogue of dynamical nuclear shadowing. The shift is controlled by a parameter already fixed by inclusive nuclear data, so no new nonperturbative input enters. We present quantitative predictions for nuclear modifications of beam-spin observables at the Electron--Ion Collider.

NNLO soft functions for heavy-quark pair production at hadron colliders

We generalise the SoftSERVE framework for the automated computation of soft functions involving final-state heavy quarks in back-to-back kinematics up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in the strong-coupling expansion. Our algorithm employs suitable phase-space parameterisations for both massive and mixed massless-massive contributions, allowing for an efficient numerical evaluation. Focusing on SCET$_\mathrm{I}$ observables that satisfy non-Abelian exponentiation, we present explicit results for the 0-jettiness soft function in hadronic top-quark pair production in the form of two-dimensional grids. We describe the renormalisation procedure in detail and discuss the singular behaviour of the tripole colour correlations in the threshold limit.

Direct versus resolved photons in DPS in photoproduction on proton and nuclei

We study the process of double parton scattering (DPS) associated with the photoproduction at a future Electron-Ion collider (EIC) and HERA. We show that in the case of the resolved photon the 1 to 2 processes lead, even at small transverse momenta of the hard processes , to the increase of the DPS by a factor of order 1.6 in the significant part of the phase space, relative to the predictions of the mean field based models . Moreover we study the kinematic region where direct photon contribution is dominant and show it s boundaries for charm and light quark jets. For charmed jets we see that the relevant region is $x_\gamma\ge 0.2-0.4$. This region is even enhanced if we consider the photoproduction on the nuclei.

First constraints on the nonperturbative gluon Collins-Soper kernel

The gluon Collins-Soper kernel, which encodes the rapidity evolution of transverse-momentum-dependent gluon distributions, is constrained for the first time in the nonperturbative regime, for transverse momentum scales $q_{T} \in [ 300\text{ MeV}, 1.3\text{ GeV}]$. The constraints are determined in lattice QCD at a close-to-physical pion mass $M_\pi = 172(3)\text{ MeV}$, a single lattice spacing $a=0.15\text{ fm}$, and next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic matching in Large-Momentum Effective Theory. These results represent the first step toward a controlled determination of the gluon Collins-Soper kernel in QCD, with eventual phenomenological import and relevance to present and future experiments sensitive to the gluon structure of hadronic matter.

Global analyses of helicity-dependent parton distribution functions

Helicity-dependent, or polarised, parton distribution functions describe the longitudinal polarisation of quarks, antiquarks, and gluons inside a polarised nucleon. They encode how the spin of a fast-moving proton or neutron is shared among its partonic constituents and are therefore central to the modern understanding of nucleon spin structure in Quantum Chromodynamics. Helicity PDFs are extracted from global QCD analyses of polarised hard-scattering data, including inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, and polarised proton-proton collisions. This article reviews the definition and physical interpretation of polarised PDFs, the perturbative QCD framework used to determine them, the experimental observables that constrain the different parton flavours, and the statistical methodology of global analyses. The state of the art in polarised PDF determination is presented, together with the impact expected from future measurements at the Electron-Ion Collider.

Inclusive Charmless Non-Leptonic B Decays at NLO within and beyond the Standard Model

We calculate the full set of BSM contributions to the inclusive non-leptonic $B$-meson lifetime from charmless final states within the framework of the Weak Effective Theory up to next-to-leading order in QCD and to leading power in the heavy-quark expansion. We do so by computing cut diagrams and the corresponding phase space integrals. This involves calculating current-current, penguin-penguin, penguin-dipole and dipole-dipole diagrams with two-, three- and four-particle cuts. We describe the technical difficulties of the computation. We then discuss how our results can be used to constrain new physics scenarios related to the anomalies observed in semi-leptonic and charmless non-leptonic decays.

Unraveling QCD dynamics with heavy quark energy correlators

Heavy-flavor jets and their substructure provide a unique window into the role of quark mass on QCD radiation and its modification in nuclear matter. In this work, we investigate heavy-quark energy-energy correlators (EECs) that are explicitly sensitive to mass effects, focusing on angular distributions, energy flow, and the dead-cone effect. We demonstrate how the finite mass of charm and bottom quarks reshapes the intra-jet radiation pattern, leading to characteristic suppression at small angles and measurable deviations from massless jet expectations. Using effective field theory analysis, we extend the calculation of these observables to reactions with nuclei to show that medium-induced radiation competes with vacuum mass suppression, resulting in a nontrivial modification of jet substructure. Specifically, we identify regimes where EECs are dominated by the heavy quark mass, leading to qualitatively and quantitatively different behavior of this observable in QCD matter. We discuss the charm and bottom jet energy-energy correlators modification in reactions with nuclei, and further demonstrate how the formalism can be tested in small collision system at current facilities.
