Abstract

This study evaluates the geomechanically efficacy and stability control of toppling-prone hazardous rock slopes subjected to multi-field coupled configurations, utilizing prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) anchor cables. A three-dimensional finite-element geomechanically model capturing sandstone heterogeneity and macro-discontinuity characteristics was established using the Midas GTS NX platform, with the transient structural responses comprehensively analyzed across natural, torrential precipitation, and dynamic seismic scenarios. The empirical-numerical metrics demonstrate that under natural configurations, the prestressed CFRP anchor cables significantly reconstruct the internal strain field, elevating the slope safety factor from 1.165 to 1.432 and reducing the rock mass displacement from 2.907 to 1.452 mm. All past assertive mechanisms such as “restricting hydraulic infiltration” have been thoroughly expunged. The revised text frame refocuses the mechanism around the “maintenance of effective stress gradients” and explicit boundary conditions appropriate for a single-case investigation.
