Green Cloud Computing and Energy Efficiency: A Sustainable Framework for Cloud Infrastructure
Abstract
Cloud computing has transformed the delivery of IT services by providing scalable, on-demand access to computational resources. However, the rapid expansion of data centers to meet growing demands has resulted in significant energy consumption and environmental concerns. To address this, green cloud computing seeks to minimize the carbon footprint of cloud infrastructures without compromising performance or reliability. This paper presents a comprehensive review and proposes an integrated framework, that integrates energy-aware resource management, intelligent workload scheduling, advanced virtualization, and renewable energy utilization to improve the sustainability of cloud data centers. The proposed dynamic optimization model demonstrates a notable reduction in power consumption through simulation-based experiments. The study highlights the effectiveness of the framework and outlines future research directions to promote sustainable and environmentally responsible cloud computing practices.
