Energy security mechanisms as a factor in the development of farms and the vegetable market in the region

Abstract

This article examines energy security mechanisms for farms as factors in the development of the regional vegetable market. The relevance of the study is due to the high energy intensity of agricultural production, rising energy tariffs, and the need to improve the resilience of the agricultural sector in the face of external and internal risks. The aim of the study is to systematize energy security mechanisms and develop approaches to assessing their effectiveness for peasant (farm) households. The methodological basis of the study consists of systems analysis, indicative planning, economic and mathematical modeling, and SWOT analysis. The paper proposes a classification of energy security mechanisms and develops a two-tier model for assessing their effectiveness, including an economic feasibility index and a net present value (NPV) indicator. It has been established that the implementation of energy-efficient and autonomous solutions helps reduce energy costs, increase production sustainability, and stabilize the vegetable market. The scientific novelty lies in the adaptation of the indicative approach to assessing energy security for farms and the substantiation of its impact on regional market parameters. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility of their use in the development of regional agricultural and energy policies.
