Abstract

This study presents a novel approach to reduce pressure ripples in electric power (EP) steering systems by proposing a quantized sampled-data controller (QSDC) based on the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy-model approach for finite-time extended dissipative analysis. With special consideration of the influence of velocity on EP steering control, a fuzzy QSDC is designed to actively mitigate the pressure ripple effects. By developing a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) that fully incorporates the characteristics of the sampled-data and utilizes integral inequalities, the study determines the extended dissipative performance in finite time for a certain class of EP systems with the QSDC. Utilizing the LKF, the study derives a stability criterion expressed in linear matrix inequalities using the MATLAB toolbox. Finally, simulation studies are performed to illustrate the efficacy and improved performance of the proposed methodology.

Finite-frequency Control and Energy Optimization of Nonlinear Wind Turbines Using T–s Fuzzy Models

This paper proposes an integrated fuzzy control and energy management strategy for nonlinear wind energy systems by combining the generalized Kalman–Yakubovich–Popov (gKYP) lemma with Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy modeling. The nonlinear dynamics of the wind turbine are represented by a T–S fuzzy model, which enables the d...

Practical Prescribed-Time Fuzzy Adaptive Control for PMSMs Under Uncertain Dynamics via Time-Varying Scaling Function

To fulfill the dynamic and steady-state performance requirements of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) in speed regulation, a practical prescribed-time fuzzy adaptive control approach is investigated. First, a novel continuously differentiable time-varying scaling function is constructed, which avoids the prob...

Less Conservative Aperiodic Sampled-Data Control Design for Takagi–Sugeno Fuzzy Systems via a Novel Non-Quadratic Looped-Functional

This paper addresses the design of an aperiodic sampled-data controller for Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy systems. To achieve a larger maximum allowable transfer interval (MATI) between consecutive sampling instants, less conservative stability conditions are derived by constructing an improved Lyapunov functional. The pro...
